FALLOUT 4 RUMORS! (UPDATED)

Hey ya'll! I want to take some time today to discuss some recent rumors about Fallout 4. This morning I was told by a friend that it will be taking place in San Francisco! I know right?! It's freaking crazy!

Has it been officially announced by Bethesda? No. A quick check of Bethesda's website this morning shows no news about Fallout 4. The most you will hear about there related to Fallout is the recent release of the FNV Ultimate Edition on Tuesday.

So how do I know that it's in San Francisco? Weeeellllllll a teaser trailer has been floating around on YouTube. Now there is some argument that it is user made, but I have to say that if this was user made then this user should be WORKING for Bethesda. Anyway, this video has the Bethesda logo. It's been up since January 2011, and if it were fake and were using Bethesda's logo without their permission, I'm sure that Bethesda would have demanded that it be taken down. But you know, Bethesda is a little funny about things like that. They do defend their name and their licenses like rabid animals, but this... from a copyright nerd's point of view, I think this is real. Considering Bethesda's past fights in the copyright world, I think this is real.

Also, since the release of Skyrim, I think that leaks of information about Fallout 4 are inevitable. And since Bethesda has neither confirmed of denied the validity of this trailer, maybe we should take it as truth with a grain of salt.

There is an argument that Bethesda would never revisit places that have already been featured in previous games, but maybe it's time that we revisit them. Think about it. The first Fallout takes place eighty-four years after the Great War of 2077. Now fast forward to Fallout 3, the year is 2277, exactly two-hundred years after the Great War. FNV takes place in 2281. That's a lot of time between the original and the most recent games. A lot may have changed between now and then in San Francisco. And very little is known about the area as of 2281. It is not mentioned in FNV. It has not been mentioned since F2. Maybe it's time that we find out what is going on there?

So I want to know: what do you think my friends? Is this real? Is it fake? If it's fake, where do you think F4 will take place? Because if this is fake, then I am out of ideas on F4.

  1. gotta be user generated, the models textures etc are assets from fo3 (telephone poles for example)

  2. It's fake I can promise you that, rumours have been floating around about F4 being placed in San Francisco tho so I wouldn't throw that out of the window just yet. Also it has been said that Bethesda are announcing a major title at this years E3 expo. So my idea is have you're fingers crossed for that as I'm sure they will release a genuine teaser trailer there, as for release I'm expecting it to come out late 2012 or spring 2013, if not that then we will probily be seeing a release on the next generations of consoles in 2014. Unhappy face

    1. thinking about it, story wise, San Fransico wouldn't make sense since the NCR already contorls all of California and that would make for a less interesting game, and I wouldn't count on a prequel, or just throwing out the history, that ain't how Bethesda roles.

    2. Depending on which faction you went with in FNV it might be interesting. Honestly I am hoping that they will add another dimension to this universe.

  3. Id rather see a different area. The east coast would be a nice change. New York City area would be an awesome place to explore.

    1. Same, I would enjoy a Fallout in NYC. But what I think would be cool would be...Fallout: Miami! The main storyline could take place in Miami, and some DLC packs could be the Everglades(similar to Point Lookout), maybe Disney World, and maybe even New Orleans

      Delete
    2. Ah Fallout: Miami does sound rather interesting, fighting mutated Alligators, Snakes, and countless insects... They could do a lot of things with that.

      Delete
    3. yea miami would be sweet

  4. The Appalachian mountains or the Upper Midwest would be more feasible for a Fallout game; with all the infrastructure of NYC degrading over 200 years the city would be nothing but a collection of flooded islands, seriously doubt most of the buildings would survive that long. Plus I'm tired of the Mojave!

    1. I think it would be awesome exploring an archipelago of islands that was once NYC. I also believe most of the buildings would survive considering all the buildings in D.C. and Vegas it would be logical to assume it would be the same situation.

    2. Well in theory, New York would have collapsed on itself by then... though I would look forward to the DC area.. but if not, there are so many places in the US that could be used! Yellowstone National Park.... sounds fun... or a deeper look into Utah with all its tribes. Who knows?

  5. I know a very reliable source. He told me during the E3 expo fallout will be revealed. Which is Fallout 4: New York. Factions will rule new York City...

    2. E3 has come and gone and this did not happen. Big surprise.

    3. But that doesn't mean that we cannot keep talking about it.

    4. i read a comment on here and i kinda agree with it. i dont think we will see fallout 4 till the next gen consoles come out.

  6. San Francisco has a bit fallout lore. there is a chines sup that is supposed to be in the harbor and San Francisco is not far from the original enclave base, the oil rig, that was destroyed in a earlier game. it is more likely to be used then New York. but only time and E3 can tell....

  8. How about Chicago or Detroit or Cleveland area's would be pretty slick, or pick 1 city and have some DLC's tht go to the other citys/areas.I'd jst be happy to see the Eastern coastal again. I too am a little sick of the Mojave desert but it WAS fun.

    2. mojave was really cool but i enjoyed d.c. much more. i felt the d.c. map was much more open than the mojave. but i liked the monsters in mojave much more because i felt that they were more diverse

  9. I would be so happy if Fallout 4 was announced. Fallput 3 was just awesome. New Vegas was okay but I am more ambitious about what Fallout 4 can bring.

Upgrade the old graphics and combat system. Imagine not having to rely on VATS most of the time and actually shoot like COD.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Having it shoot like COD would ruin the game. What makes a game unique is that the game is like ITSELF and not like something else.

      Delete
    2. Having it shoot like COD or Battlefield or another FPS wouldnt ruin the game at all. It would still be the same F3 and FNV formula that everyone loves, but with more solid combat. It wouldnt necessarily be different... just better.

      Delete
    3. VATS is overrated... just saying! :P I don't use it at all and just run n' gun with the sight/scope.

      Delete
  10. yeah but i agree with the combat system being Mayybe a Little different and mostly graphics upgraded, I want the Concept Art to almost exactly compare to the real game graphics /\

  11. Fallout in the deep south would be siiiiiiiiiick

    1. Too much Desert around Texas & Arizona areas and not enough city areas(Cept. Houston or Dallas or Tucsun) or spectacular landmarks like D.C. and Las Vegas had plenty to offer. The Northeast/Northwest would have the best Landmarks(Seattl OR N.Y.). I guess Mayyybe the SouthEast like New Orleans,Florida, or maybe even the Caribbean islands on some DLC's or somthin like that would work out to be pretty awesome. To many possibility's on where it could be. BUT every 1 lately is saying New York is IT, so ill take it.

  12. As long as it is more captivating than New Vegas anything could be cool. I had a hard time with Vegas and could not get into it

    1. There was a little too much open space for me, but I have actually logged more hours on FNV than on F3. I was a little disappointed with the DLCs though.

    2. Dead Money and Lonesome roads made New Vegas 2x better. Just sayin

      Delete
    3. Dead Money and Lonesome Road were awesome! But I hated Honest Hearts. Old World Blues was okay...

  13. I'd actually like to see San fran . Or maybe new Orleans and have some dlc take to Europe or Canada and since the boomers got the bomber working in NV maybe you could travel vast distances in a similar scenario

    1. Europe would be pretty awesome. I've heard cries for London from some people. Maybe we can guess where the next location will be based on where Bethesda employee business trips have been recently <_< >_>

  14. its gotta be fake. it doesn't have the big landscape scenes or pan outs that most fallout trailers have not to mention a song with lyrics in it based on the area where the sequel takes place. im not sure where the next one will take place but im hoping for either fallout big apple, or change off continent like fallout outback/down under or fallout moskow or berlin

  15. i think they should do fallout hawii (well somewhere with alot ocean for pirates and shit)

  16. For anyone thinking the game will be heading back to where the first two took place, think of this. The NCR currently control the land and it's very unlikely that any big enemies would be placed in front of you. However, if the NCR was starting to split, then it would be feasible for going back, otherwise you'd just be living a calm life in protected lands. I'm thinking the game will take place east of the Colorado river where Caesar control. However, this presents a dilemma in itself. I'm thinking that the NCR, no matter which path you took, will beat back the Legion and start mopping up the rest of them. So, I'm thinking Dallas, Texas. Fallout seems to be about rebuilding humanity, and getting rid of Caesar's Legion seems like an obvious step to do so.

  17. I don't know about anyone else but for me I think having played both FNV and FO3 I enjoyed the change in scenerey. Maybe this time around have a variety of different surroundings, for example, FO3 I particularly liked the ruins of DC not knowing was around the next corner or what was in the buildings around you ready to jump out and attack you, but, in New Vegas I can't say I didn't like it but I thought it was too open and spread out, though I loved the game I think they could have expanded on it a lot more. All I ask Bethesda or whoever takes over the franchise for is a sprint button or if there is a lot of rivers, lakes etc maybe have a boat as a mode of transport instead of having to get a s***load of rads swimming in the water, but avoid using the metro system, I can't say I enjoyed using it in FO3

  18. I think it would be cool to do someplace unexpected. We've seen the desert. We've seen big cities. We've even seen a city sized vault. I think people are relying on building on things that actually exist now, such as bustling cities or massive military installations. We not have bethesda invent a new place. Somewhere Ian the Midwest. Somewhere not Chicago. How about Missouri/Kansas a new factions comes up. One that doesn't want to be underestimated. Like a sparticus story almost. Like escaped slaves from ceasars legion.

    1. i like that but chicago is the right placce i mean like the guy who just posted is right the trains would be nice and u got the big city or small after the nukes chicago has so much art there mabye the BOS can be saveing the art or saveing tanks from the old base's

      Delete
  19. i think chicago would fit i mean the great lakes you could do something for a dlc like go to ohio plus its in the middle of the u.s so it would be kind of nice to she how it is in the midwest plus the trains that r all over chicago it could be a better fast travel for places you want to get close by

  20. its looks good till u see the army truck they dont have cars like that

  21. Something near the commonwealth, near NYC I believe, is what I expect. If it isn't there, then it isn't in the USA. Maybe another country? I'm not sure what Fallout lore says about the other continents.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think it should be in Chicago because that is where the Enclave HQ is and I've been wanting to kick there asses since they killed my "dad" in FO3

  23. The southeast seems like it would be amazing. It'd go from Atlanta, to New Orleans, to Miami. Between that triangle would be a ton of area, and the writers could basicly do whatever they wanted.

    ReplyDelete
  24. i think Miami would be awesome. having it go between New Orleans and Atlanta would be sick. and having dlc going to mexico or Jamaica or even cuba would be sick too. i hope Fo4 has like vehicles like motorcycles or something like that that you could put weapons on and stuff that would be awesome. good fast travel and new armored enemies like tanks and jeeps and stuff. itd be cool if they went all out and made other planets or something you could take ships to, or like pre world Space Station downloadable content.

  25. What if bethesda's new title dishonered IS going to be the next rpg series?

    ReplyDelete
  26. What about MIT, we see a lot of mentions about it, like with the android guy from F03, maybe its the last untouched area, like if mr houses defense center worked, or maybe it could be like OWB's except not real creepy. OR MAYBE YOU FLY A PLANE TO....wait for it..... CHINA!!!!

  27. First of all fallout needs to stay in the U.S. to keep that 50s Americana feel, and secondly I liked NV soooo much better than 3 for 2 main reasons: I absolutely despised trekking through those damn subway tunnels just too surface and explore maybe one or 2 buildings and too many super mutants, hell they were everywhere im not saying they were hard I just prefer the human or humanlike enemies rather than a giant green idiot around every corner

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh and almost forgot 3 was too much of a linear game, albeit I do love the brotherhood I like to make my own decisions. As for fo4 I'd like to see an open world I dont really like all the buildings something I would really like to also see is some sort of weather, like dust storms or acid rain. And maybe a vault community who actually used their geck properly like the walls and the homes disassembled from their vault

  29. In fallout new vegas it is mentioned that NCR used to be a small place called the "Shady Sands". I didnt finish fallout 1 but i played it and there was a place called "Shady Sands" in it. So maybe it is a good idea to see what happened there? People in New Vegas (including a Gen 2 Super mutant in Jacobs Town) said that civil war could happen but people were desperate for protection against the Legion and they didn't want a civil war. So how about a civil war plot in fallout 4 where the NCR started off as shady sands?

  30. I have heard rumors of fo4 taking place in the commonweath in the boston mas area i would like to see more than one metropolis like city and i agree that the subways were kinda hard to navigate at times but that half the fun of exploring d.c. and it make it seem more logical that the ruines hadnt been scavanged clean. Also bethesda is a us company and it wouldnt he fallout uf it were in another country but a dlc would acceptable to take place in another country like great britton or france. I would personally like fo4 to take place in and around chicago and milwalkee. Also i would like to see necropolis .as far as game play features i would like to see are a smoother fps mode and a better down the sights firing system. A sprint and quick malee like be able to hit an enemy with your gun .also vehicles would be nice at times. I would also like to see some karma based clothing a kin to fable as well as being able to see the traveler's appearance change with your karma maybe not as cartoony as fable but simillar . I personally love the vats system i was a big fan of the first two fallouts and the turn based combat but i also like that you can run and gun. I also want to be able to kill every one including plot npc's and children it takes out some of the realism out if the game when you unload on some one and all they do is get knocked out. I would also like to see more customizable houses and be able to set up businesses like be able to open your own stores or build your own city. Just some of my ideas . I am gonna play the shat out of fo4 either way but it would be nice to see some of these ideas in fo4.
